Ekerubo Gietai Technical Training Institute (EGTTI) is one of the thirteen new TVET institutions in Kenya established during term of the 10th parliament. The construction of the Institute was funded by the Government of Kenya with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB). Work began in June 2012 under the mentorship of Keroka Technical Training Institute (KTTI) and was completed in 2014. The pioneer Principal was posted to the Institute on 20th January 2015 and the first patch of students reported as from 23rd February 2015.The Institute’s first Board of Governors (BOG) was inaugurated on 27th April 2015.

EGTTI was officially opened in a ceremony presided over by the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta C.G.H. on 27th April 2016. The Institute is registered by the TVET Authority as a Technical and Vocational College (TVC) and licensed to offer training up to diploma level. Its registration number is (TVETA/PUBLIC/TVC/0011/2016).

EGTTI boasts of a serene training environment, modern equipment and skilled faculty in the programmes it offers. It is a is a centre of excellence in Building Sciences and Land Survey.

The Institution is in Itibo Ward, Nyamira North Sub-County, Nyamira County within the Great Lakes circuit. It is on the Tombe – Mokomoni road about 12 kilometres from Nyamira County off the Nyamira – Ikonge highway. Its GPS Coordinates are LAT. -0.591072 (S 0° 35’27.858”); LONG. 35.028873 (E 35°1’43.944”).

Deputy Principal Administration Message

EKERUBO GIETAI T T I was given a mandate to accomplish the BIG FOUR AGENDA of the Government and Vision 2030. This can only be possible through offering quality Education and Training with an aim of producing quality technicians.

My responsibility as Deputy Principal Administration in charge of coordinating both teaching and support staff in the effective implementation of the training curriculum which is geared towards production of a workforce equipped with skills and competences that the industry demands. It is the responsibility of my office to ensure there is cordial relationship between the Institute and key stakeholder for the purpose of enhancing the good-will.

I am determined to help EKERUBO GIETAI TTI achieve its objectives as envisaged in the Mission and Vision statements. This will only be achieved through enhanced support of the office of the Principal and in terms of human, physical and financial resources. Maintenance of College assets Human Resources available, enhancing the staff engagement in various activities that promote integration cohesion and harmonious coexistence falls under my office.

My office welcomes trainees to pursue their career at EKERUBO GIETAI TTI. This is the place to be if one wants to excel. We have excellent skilled and competent trainers who always are at hand to deliver on workshops and class rooms are spacious enough where trainees can sit without violating the Government Covid 19 Guidelines.

Message from the Deputy Principal – Academics – Mrs. Joyce Omweri

The office of the Deputy Principal in charge of Academic Affairs was created in May 2019 following the appointment of the Deputy Principal Academics by the Public Service Commission. My role is to ensure teaching tools are prepared by trainers for curriculum delivery of academic programs. To actualize the vision and mission of the Institute, the office ensures that only qualified students enrol in courses they qualify for according to the relevant requirements for admission.  The Deputy Principal Academics chairs the Academic Board Committee, which comprises the Registrar, the Dean of Students, and all Heads of academic departments. The committee ensures that programmes and new courses that are launched are demand-driven.  During Academic Board meetings, the Committee ensure that exams are well marked, moderated and marks awarded as per the Academic Policy guidelines. It is the mandate of the committee to ensure that only those meeting the standard are released into the labour market.

Heads of academic departments closely carry out monitoring of student attendance to lessons, practical assessments, and examinations to ensure they pass before progressing to the next level.

MESSAGE FROM REGISTRAR. (MR.DEVIS NYANGERI)

The registrar’s office is a key office that handles admission and registration of trainees, maintenance of trainees’ records, ensuring that trainees meet and comply with internal and external requirements for registration, coordinating registration of trainees for external examinations/assessment and ensuring that the Centre complies with the requirements of external examining/assessment bodies.
